Studio Lecturer, Queensland College of Art, Griffith University
I wrote and delivered Surface Patterning for Materials and Textures to be offered as an elective in the Bachelor of Design program at the Queensland College of Art where I obtained my Bachelor of Design. The course encouraged students to use hands-on techniques like stamping, painting and stitching, to adapt their existing design skills and styles into surface patterns. It also introduced students to the concept of regionalism, asking them to study their own cultural backgrounds as a source of reference material for their designs. Course development included the creation of assessment briefs, 14 weekly lesson plans and 14 weekly lectures.
Studio Lecturer, College of Fine Art, UNSW (now UNSW Art & Design)
At COFA I was a Studio Lecturer in the Textile Design stream of the Bachelor of Design program in 2010. The second-year studio was an introduction to hands-on design techniques including drawing, painting, embroidery and screen-printing for creating textiles.
